I was so honored to be included in Mark and Zoë’s special day at the gorgeous Ca’d’Zan at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, FL. Even though the bride and groom had some initial concerns about the harp and the weather, the weather was absolutely PERFECT for their outside wedding ceremony! The waterfront property was stunning and the view was unbelievable. The couple choose the mansion to be the background for their ceremony. The Italian inspired glazed tile and windows filled with colored glass were the perfect compliment to the beautiful bridal party. Their ceremony was so special and included many personal touches. The officiant was a close friend of the couple and one of the bridesmaids sang a song for the couple during the ceremony. It was SO sweet! The bride and groom were grinning from ear-to-ear from the start of the ceremony to the very end (and I’m sure the rest of the night too!). Watching the couple, who were so obviously in love, was my favorite part of the day! Thank you Mark and Zoë for allowing me to provide music for your wedding ceremony. I’m very thankful to have been a part of such a memorable moment of your lives! Event Planner: Confetti Events
Jordan and Deon had the perfect, intimate garden wedding at the beautiful Palmetto Club at Fishhawk Ranch! The ceremony site was absolutely beautiful and even had small fountains cascading behind the lovely couple. The couple had thought of every little detail. They included the cutest program for the ceremony and even had personalized water bottles for the guests! Even though there were a few rain clouds in sight, they kept their distance and the weather ended up being ideal! I was so fortunate enough to entertain the guests before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour. The guests were so fun and I loved interacting with them. Jordan is beautiful inside and out and I’m so thankful for her for making me feel so welcome. She even invited me into her bridal suite before the ceremony! How sweet was that?! I’m so happy for this sweet couple and wish Jordan and Deon MANY years of love, joy, and happiness. Thank you for being so awesome! Wedding Photographer: Head Over Heels Photography
I am so thankful for my job and all the wonderful opportunities that I have to play for so many great people. I was invited by the women of the First United Methodist Church in Gulfport, FL to be their key performer for their annual birthday lunch celebration. After the ladies enjoyed their lunch and cake, I performed a few songs from my repertoire. I loved chatting with the wonderful women after the performance. They were so appreciative of me and my performance, which means the world to me! I love when people have questions about my harp. I’m always in awe of my instrument so it never gets old explaining how it works! After the performance, I even got to check out the beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico that was only a couple blocks away from the church. Have I mentioned how much I love my job?! March 4th was THE perfect night for Kristen and Darrel’s intimate wedding ceremony! The temperature was perfect and the skies were crystal clear! Much better than the weather they are used to in Canada. ;) Their wedding ceremony took place at the beautiful Cypress M Ranch in Punta Gorda, FL. The couple included many personal touches to their ceremony including the presence of their dog, Nemo. The best part of my job? Getting to watch the couple as they lovingly gaze at each other before their vows. It never gets old! The love between Kristen and Darrel was radiating from her gaze. After the ceremony, I was fortunate enough to entertain the guests during cocktail hour while the bridal party were taking pictures. My harp looked absolutely gorgeous in front of the beautiful barn! My favorite part of the cocktail hour? When the guests come and talk to me while I play. I even had a request for a Metallica song. (Which I have now included on my list of songs to learn.) I especially enjoyed playing under the beautiful, bright stars. Thank you Kristen and Darrel for having me a part of your wedding! You are both very kind and I wish you many years of happiness!
When I agreed to meet with a seller on eBay, I had NO idea what I was getting myself into. I was seeking a used lever harp and came across a gentleman in Orlando. Turns out, this gentleman, Meko, is the founder and director of the International Harp Museum (IHM). (The IHM is currently looking for a new home so it is temporarily set up out of Meko’s home.) I was in complete awe when I walked through the door. I was greeted by many varieties of harps ranging from single action pedal harps from the 1700’s to double action pedal harps from the 1800’s (probably one of the first!). The IHM is home to many Wurlitzer harps, which haven’t been in production since the 1930’s and also Lyon and Healy harps. All of the harps were unique and beautifully decorated. Some were gold plated but all had such intricate details on the crown. The soundboards had different designs; there was even a pink painted soundboard with design, “The Famous Pink 11”! I could have easily spent hours looking at these incredible instruments and learning about their history! I’m so fortunate to play such an incredible, magnificent instrument. If you are looking to learn and see all things harp you MUST check out the International Harp Museum! Please take a moment to check out the their website. The International Harp Museum is not for profit so please make a donation if you can! :) |
