I was so excited when the Oxford Exchange contacted me to play for their special Valentine’s day event they were hosting. If you’ve never been to the Oxford Exchange, you must go… like this weekend. It is amazing! They have it all!... A bookstore, gift shop, coffee shop, tea bar, a restaurant, and a beautiful (semi) outside courtyard. This place is absolutely gorgeous. The place looks like it was decorated by Chip and Joanna Gaines (if you don’t know who THEY are… I suggest your watch Fixer Upper on HGTV. You will fall in love). I was fortunate to play in their private courtyard. The courtyard has a beautiful water feature and white brick walls adorned with plants and gas lanterns. The guests were greeted with roses at their tables and champagne! Each table was presented with tea and a tiered serving plate filled with delicious goodies. I played a variety of classical and LOVE songs. While I was playing I came across a few handwritten notes from my husband attached to my music and inside my bench. This made my day! I had such a great time playing there and the guests really enjoyed it (they told me. hehe). Thank you Oxford Exchange for allowing me to play my beautiful harp at your beautiful place!
Also, how can I forget what happened AFTER I was finished playing. I was walking to my car with the harp to see an embarrassing display of red hearts drawn on the windows of my car and “I love you!” on my back window. There was also a big red heart balloon that said “Happy Valentine’s Day” attached to my rear windshield wiper. My hubby drove all the way to Tampa to surprise me! I was so surprised and thankful that he did that for me! It was a WONDERFUL day! :) |
